About Laura

Young Laura

Laura Wrubleski was born on a cold March day in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. She lived with her family in Langham, Saskatchewan, until she graduated from high school. Once she finished her secondary studies, she moved out to Alberta for a year to work, back home to study for a year at the University of Saskatchewan, and finally moved to Medicine Hat, Alberta to attend Medicine Hat College. There, she studied Graphic Design and graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Visual Communications Degree in 2003.

After working in Medicine Hat for a year after graduation, she felt the urge to take a break from design and to experience something completely new. Following this urge and not knowing where it would lead her, she traveled to Miryang, South Korea, to teach English to young children and teenagers.

Here, she met Guy, a Canadian and fellow English teacher. They met and soon became inseparable. You can guess where the story takes them - Burnaby!

Laura is currently taking on design projects at home. You can view her website here. She is a hardworking web and graphic designer who loves illustration and fine art.

She has also always had an interest in health and spirituality. Her curiosity and a desire for stress relief led her to Reiki Master Astrid Lee, from whom she received her first Reiki treatment. Falling in love with the energy healing technique, Laura received her Reiki Level 1 attunement in August of 2007.

Laura also loves kittens, birds, cooking and good food, wine, her friends, sushi, writing, bright colours, and kickin' it old school. Oh, and also, Guy.
